Asher
Fredman A native of New York, Asher was accepted early to both Harvard and the University of Chicago. At Harvard he completed a degree in Government and Middle Eastern Studies with high honors. During his college years Asher served as Vice President for Education at Harvard Hillel, and helped found both Hillel's Student Development Team and the Harvard Darfur Action Group. |
|
After taking a one year break to volunteer for the “Nahal”
in the IDF, Asher returned to the university setting, this
time as a graduate student. He was accepted to and completed
Harvard's Master's program in Middle Eastern Studies. Asher's ability to work under intense pressure and according to strict deadlines was put to the test as he completed a 140-page Senior Thesis on the Israeli constitutional debates. The essay received high honors and was described by the Chair of Harvard's Government department as "excellent...well organized and very clearly written." Wanting both to enjoy the Israeli culture and to take part in the developing story of the Jewish people, Asher recently made Aliya. Asher’s natural thoroughness, perfectionism and writing skills have allowed him to help friends and peers write application essays since 2001. Besides his work at Aringo, he has written and edited for several high-profile research institutes such as the Begin Sadaat Center for Strategic Studies and the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. He has also done research and writing for several Members of Knesset including Miki Eitan (Likud), Hemi Doron (Shinui) and Ilona Cohen (Am Ehad), as well as for professors at Bar Ilan and Harvard universities. Asher finds one of the most rewarding aspects of being an Aringo Consultant to be the opportunity to meet talented people from all different walks of life. He is impressed by the fact that after they complete their education, many return to help develop the Israeli economy. "It's amazing and interesting how you can use words in different ways to express yourself…" Interesting fact: Asher met his wife, Ester, who is Ethiopian-Israeli, at an international summer camp in Hungary. Tal
Rayman Tal's clients were admitted to the MBA programs of INSEAD, Chicago, Columbia, Kellogg, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, LBS, Michigan, Tuck & Darden. Areas of specialty: candidates from High tech industry, engineers, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, re-applicants. Tal has spent a decade as an entrepreneur and manager in the high-tech sector. In 2000, Tal co-founded Followap, a pioneering startup which went on to lead the mobile instant messaging market. Followap was acquired for $139M by NeuStar (NYSE:NSR) in 2006. |
|
From fundraising and recruitment, through establishing the
R&D and marketing departments, to partnering with some of
the world’s most respected companies, launching a
fast-growing startup is a great introduction to business. By
2002, Followap had grown to more than 80 people, had raised
over $14M in investments, and had won the world’s largest
mobile operator group as its customer. During this time, Tal
led Followap’s product strategy, marketing efforts and
penetration into the mobile operator business. Tal’s background – strategy, marketing and management of international businesses - means that he comes from the culture MBA applicants are looking to get into. After several years of roller-coaster startup life, Tal left his position to pursue his other love – English. Tal received his BA in English (with honors) and Biology from Tel Aviv University (TAU), and is currently pursuing an MA in English there. He has won several awards for his writing, most recently the TAU English Department’s central prize, the 2009 Vardi Award for Best Paper on MA level. It was during his time at the university that Tal started applying his marketing skills and writing talents to help friends and colleagues get into leading MBA programs. Writing has been a major part of Tal’s personal and professional life, from extensive marketing writing at Followap, through academic writing at the university, to creative writing of short (and some not-so-short) stories. Tal’s love of the written word, coupled with his business background, make assisting MBA applicants much more than a job for him. Aside from his work at Aringo, Tal likes bicycling, dogs, and of course, writing’s silent partner – reading.
